A delegation from Moscow visited the Finnish meteorological Institute

A delegation from Moscow city owned company GBU Moscow, Vaisala and Helsinki Business Hub visited Finnish meteorological institute in this week. Mr. Harri Pietarila, Head of Unit of Expert Services, Mrs. Emmi Laukkanen, Local project leader of Green InterTraffic, and Mrs. Ida Reetta Virranjoki, Client manager for FMI road Weather services, presented the services for road maintenance that Finnish Meteorological Institute has for offer. The agenda of the meeting was built around the road maintenance needs of the City of Moscow.  The fruitful conversation topics were related to air quality, street dust, road cleaning and winter maintenance and road weather forecasts.

The project CBC Green InterTraffic was also presented. In the project four Vaisala AQT sensors were placed along the road E18 near the border are to monitor the air quality. Two of the sensor are in Russia and two of them to Finland. The air quality sensor measurements will continue until the summer 2020. The measurement results are open for public in project website at the link.

After the meeting the delegation visited the FMI Weather and Safety Centre. In the center, the operators of a road maintenance company work side by side with the meteorologists of Finnish Metrological Institute and get the most recent weather information in real time in close co-operation.
